Media literacy for education professionals

About the project

Learning and living in the context of increasing digitisation and critical reflection will be an integral part of our society in the future. Makerspaces and making activities, as innovative practices, offer the possibility to actively promote creative competences, to enable access to and use of (digital) technologies and to consciously connect social interaction. This expands meaningful participation in the increasingly digital world. With MakerEDU, we are creating the opportunity to train educational professionals as multipliers in the field of making and maker education and to pass on action-oriented media literacy to children and young people throughout Europe. The prerequisite for the latter, however, is that educators themselves deal with these topics and develop the corresponding competences. MakerEDU’s mission is to use the potential of Making to transform teaching and learning.

Project result: online training on making and maker education

• Theory: get to know and understand the basic concepts, Maker Education, your role as a educational professional and different teaching and learning settings
• Practice: clear ideas for the practical realization of making in educational contexts 
• Implementation: getting to know how to create a do-it-yourself space (Makerspace)
